Available for sale, 226 Great Neck Road was originally occupied by the Griffith family and was operated as a farm. In the early 1900's, Robert F. Herrick, a prominent Boston attorney, purchased the property for a summer home. In 1928, an expansion of the once existing farmhouse took place enlarging the home to its current state today, with the exception of the southwest addition completed in 1991. In 1943, the property was sold to the Congregation of the Sacred Heart to be operated as a seminary for Missionaries, and has been operated in this capacity since for these purposes and as retreat center.
